Biography

Born in 2004, Chi began playing the piano at the age of five. She studied at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School (NEC) with Dr. Jonathan Bass and recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), where she studied with Professor Mimi Solomon and Dr. Clara Yang.
Chi has received First Prize at the American Protégé International Music Competition and was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, Grand Prize at the New York Concert Festival International Competition, Gold Award at the Asia Pacific Arts Festival in Singapore, Excellent Prize at the 18th International Chopin Piano Competition in Asia in Japan, and an Associate Diploma from the Australian Music Examinations Board.
She has had the opportunity to perform in masterclasses with renowned artists, including Jean Dubé, Konstantinos Papadakis, Gregg Pauley, Staffan Sandström, and the Balourdet Quartet.
At NEC, she was part of two chamber music groups that performed in the Chamber Music Showcase at Jordan Hall, and appeared in the "NEC Composers: Piano Music by NEC Alumni and Faculty" concert series as well as a solo senior recital. At UNC, she performed with the University Chamber Players piano trio and in multiple Departmental Student Recitals.
In 2021, she founded Appassionato Music, a series of benefit classical concerts, and raised 100 million VND to support Song Foundation's sustainable development projects in Vietnam.
